Irish Rail 29000-class Commuter

I designed this in stud.io almost a year ago. Finally got the last parts the week before last in a couple of Bricklink orders and got it built over a couple of evenings this week.

Although I originally designed it in the new green and dark green livery, I thought the old lime and dark blue was a much nicer look, so since there are still plenty of them in operation in those colours I've stuck with that. Perhaps one day I'll make another in green and dark green and run them in a mixed-livery double-header, as frequently seen on the Maynooth line Smiling

This is my first time building a train MOC - in fact I only got my first Lego train last summer when Argos had 60197 on special offer - so I'm delighted with how it turned out and amazed that it actually runs smoothly!

The Beach Shop on Lego Ideas

Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to share my MOC here with you all.
It is one of the finalists on the Lego Ideas "Do you want to go to the seaside?" competition.
If it wins the public vote it will be a future Gift With Purchase - I'm hoping for an Irish win Smiling

Please support it on Lego Ideas using this link https://ideas.lego.com/s/ca:b3dc921d2073424eacf8e3a0693cbc3e

Batcave

Our member LegoLeprechaun who some of you may have met a few years ago in Cork when he displayed his Ninjago layout has been very busy

Some incredible stuff there, especially the batcave and Wayne Manor sitting on top of it.

School

Hi everyone,
I've just finished making the school in which I teach. It's as I see our school in about a year's time, when all this Covid madness has hopefully disappeared, hence no hand sanitisers and fully active classes with no social distancing!
I began making the structure in August and finished most of it by Christmas. I then worked on the interiors of the specific rooms (Library, PE Hall, Computer Room, Staff Room, etc.) and furniture in all other rooms.
The last big job was to fill it with minifigures. I tried to make it more interesting by having different classes engaged with different activities, in most cases whatever accessories I happened to have dictated the activities, such as Jedi training, Ninja training, wizard training and so on. I tried to think what would the children in the school love to do, and my 7 year old boy was a great help with this!

This is an aerial view of most of the school, I'm not tall enough to get a shot that fits it all in.

NIR DH Shunter

Northern Ireland Railways DH Shunter. Entered service in 1969. Cab is a bit small, but I was trying to keep loco as small as possible. Battery box will be in a separate container wagon.

Troll Bridge

Originating from Scandinavian legend and Norse mythology, the troll is an unfriendly creature best avoided. Trolls can usually be found in cold, dark, scary places; they often lurk under remote bridges such as this one, awaiting the unfortunate stray goat or unwary traveller.

This model is the 6th in my Legends & Lore series. It is comprised of 6,768 elements and was just finished yesterday.

Irish Flag

I built this flag of Ireland for Paddy's Day from random pieces I had in my collection. It's 3x2 standard baseplates. I'll hopefully build a frame for it soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone Smiling

Dr. Strange

Here is No. 4 in the Marvel series - Dr. Strange.

Square Head Project

Let me start by saying that the idea for this project came quite by accident, I looked through my drawer with printed bricks and noticed a brick 1x1 with printed eyelets.

I have a handful of them and I started to put my hair, caps, etc.

BR 94 - Another German Steam engine

It's been a while but I've (finally) finished another train:

This time as an extra challenge I wanted to give it a proper interior:

It still had to house a battery, receiver and motor of course:

Not easy to fit it all in.
