Buying Lego in Ireland

LEGO S@H Limits

Just noticed it today on the Harry Potter CMF's, they clearly state that there are '22 limited edition' figures but they have a limit of 20 per purchase.

Is this them shooting themselves in the foot or intended ploy to make you buy 22 over two purchases in turn you will most likely buy more then 22 as you are making two purchases and in theory allows you top purchase 40!?

With that said I thought they check purchases and if you make multiple transactions with the limit reached on a set they cancel the newer order(s)!?

76052 for e172 spotted in Ken Black Portlaoise

Just thought its a good value compared to what's on bricklink. Many smaller sets reduced as well.

Bricklink Purchases

Curious as to how it works for buyers on purchases, I made my first order today for ~3,500 pieces, do people count every piece and complain if there not all there or is there an unwritten rule of say x amount of pieces either way is ok?

I know this is listed as a retired product but I was wondering if anyone has spotted this in any stores, hopefully at a great discount?

BricksFinder Lego website-aggregator

Hello there,
I am in progress of developing an international website-aggregator of Lego offers in stores around the world: BricksFinder.com.
Initially this site was made for USA and Canada, but now it also works with Ireland (15 stores), UK (19 stores) and some Eastern Europe countries.
I would appreciate if you share your feedback what else should be done or what is not clear or useful.
If you don’t mind, please let me know one important thing for me: if you use my site for monitoring pricing, how would you like to be alerted about Lego sales: Twitter, Telegram (if anyone uses it?), email, browser alerts or any other?
It has also a Telegram bot @BricksFinderBot in beta (with subscriptions and other stuff)
Hope you enjoy searching BricksFinder Smiling
P.S. I know about brickcat, but we didn't know about it when we started Smiling

Toys R Us - closing down sales have begun

With the Newtownabbey store nearing full closure (all Lego cleared within days of the closing down sale beginning - I think someone must have maxed out their credit card to make a killing on eBay) the Sprucefield store now has 10% off all Lego, which will bring it down nearly as low as Smyths prices. I think remaining stores will have the same deals, and with the prognosis being poor, the deals should get better.

It's sad to see, but Toys R Us made the massive mistake of relying on the brand name. Smyths seem to be competing rather effectively with supermarkets, Argos and even Amazon, but Toys R Us never did.

BOI Live Life (debit card cashback)

Bank of Ireland have just launched a cashback service for their debit cards, S@H is currently on it with 5% back until 21/03. Considering that's a similar enough rate to other services I could see that being extended repeatedly/indefinitely.

Rather easier to use than third party services as the cash goes back to your current account.
